Halloween Fundraiser

Place Title of Image hereDear parent(s),

For the past three years, we have had the privilege to count on the generous participation of many schools throughout Quebec to raise funds for The Diabetic Children’s Foundation during Halloween.

Last year, the response from our parents, diabetic children and schools was incredible.  In 2008, The Diabetic Children’s Foundation was able to raise close to $20 000, more than $25,000 in 2007, compared to just under $5,000 in 2006. These initiatives must continue and reach a maximum of schools.

We invite you to solicit the Governing Board of the school which your child attends and submit the letter we provided for the 2009 Halloween campaign. Although Halloween is far away, most Governing Boards must make this decision before the new school year as the first meeting of 2009-10 will only be held after Halloween. Just like the past years, we will provide the Halloween boxes that have been expressly designed to collect coins.

To motivate and thank the participating schools, The Diabetic Children’s Foundation will organise a raffle, and the schools will get a chance to win a complete day’s rental of an inflatable game adapted for elementary school children and the presence of our mascot “Glucoman”. This will be our way to say thank you. What a great opportunity for the winning school to end the school year by adding these distractions to their end of the school year party!

All of the money that is collected will go towards defraying costs, in order for an even greater number of diabetic children to attend Camp Carowanis – ‘The Quebec Camp for Diabetic Children’ – Since no child is refused access due to financial matters, the demand is high. Also, the proceeds of this event will be used to offer education and support services to families of children with diabetes.

We thank you, dear parents, for helping us to ensure that our children have the best possible tools to overcome the daily challenge of living with diabetes.
